DOOR KNOB, SINK, ELECTRICAL OUTLET – Making it Worse

In our POOL FILTER posting earlier this week, we talked to the old saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Since then, we’ve gotten some hilarious e-mails regarding things that DaveZillion members tried to improve – only to make the situation worse.

For me, there was the bathroom sink I took apart in order to clean the drain only to have it never function correctly again until I installed brand new pipes and lines. There was the closet door knob that I decided to upgrade only to make the door splinter when drilling the new door knob hole and thus turning this into a major door refurbishing project. Oh yes, then there was my two to three prong outlet overhaul and upgrade that really never concluded because of many, many issues.

So we want to hear more of your stories and share in your misery, laugh and point. Let us know when you broke the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” rule and were kicking yourself for it.
